My secret (not any more) to great-tasting chicken broth is a few pieces of star anise. Most people don't have this exotic spice in their cabinet at all or if they do, aren't sure what to do with it. Well, there you are.
For each of the recipes below, use 2 cups of broth, 1/2 can full-fat coconut milk, 1/2 tbsp ground turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp Real Salt (that's the pink one from Utah).
Version 1
Add coconut milk to broth with turmeric and sea salt and blend for a mellow, rich, smooth and creamy version.
Version 2
Add 1/2 cup grated carrots and 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger to Version 1.
Version 3
Add 1/2 cup riced cauliflower and 1 crushed garlic clove to Version 1 and top with a few cilantro leaves.
Fill a mug and let this nourishing elixir soothe your tender muscles and warm your soul.
